Complete Ecuador Adventure 28 Days

This program focuses on giving the participant a taste of the Ecuadorian culture, its people and its regions! Be part of Spanish Lessons, spend time at a beautiful beach and get to experience the Amazon Jungle! The program is composed of 4 weeks of traveling around the country and volunteering! During you time in Ecuador you will not only visit the Old Historic Town in Quito where colonial churches and plazas are found but also experience breathtaking landscapes.

Ecuador offers different adventure, cultural, historical and natural opportunities for you not to miss. It maintains a unique contact with its ancestral indigenous cultures and is one of the most biologically diverse countries in the world.

Coast: One of the most known areas of the Coast is Machalilla National Park. This park has abundant and exotic wildlife, exquisite unspoiled beaches and rich historical past. Within the Park, Isla de la Plata offers fantastic opportunities especially for bird lovers. At the island you can see blue-footed and masked boobies, frigate birds, pelicans, and giant albatross

Andes Highlands: The majestic snow-capped mountains and active volcanoes with hot springs surrounding, humid cloud forests and fertile valleys, colorful Indian markets, lovely colonial towns, ancient haciendas and historic cities make of this area a paradise on its own.

Amazon Jungle: There are innumerable varieties of flora, including many of Ecuador's 4,500 species of orchids, and many plants with medicinal value.  Wildlife such as butterflies, bats, monkeys, sloths, parrots, macaws, river dolphins and caimans are easy to view.

Volunteers must arrive on a Sunday to Quito. On Monday morning volunteers will have an orientation at the Lead Adventure’s Office in Quito and will then start their program! Program available every first Monday of each month.

On your free time, you can visit the following places:

* Baños is located on the northern foothills of the Tungurahua volcano. It is named after the hydrothermal springs of mineral water located around the city. Baños is full of adventure activities, you can’t miss the Manto de la Virgen waterfall, ride a horse in the hills around the town, walk, hike or climb the surrounding trails and the volcano, mountain bike the breathtaking scenic road to Puyo or raft on one of the nearby rivers.

* Enjoy the Old Town-churches, government, squares and shopping. The historic old town of Colonial Quito is the jewel in Ecuador's crown. The city was designated the first UNESCO World Heritage City in 1978 in recognition of the importance of its colonial architecture (ahead of cities like Bath and Venice).

* Otavalo- this is the most famous Indian market in Ecuador, well known for its assortment of textiles and other crafts. Saturday is main market day with an animal market taking part on the outskirts of the town. At the center of the town, all streets are jammed with booths selling souvenirs to the tourists.
